Fall 2024: Drawing Lessons, ShortBox Comics Fair, and more!

When it rains, it pours! I had two major project debut this month. First – at Children’s Theatre Company here in Minneapolis – my work for their world debut of Drawing Lessons. This play about a shy middle schooler who learns how to come out of her shell by learning how to draw (from a cantankerous cartoonist) features a projection system that displays illustrations of mine as well as drawings the actors are doing live on stage!

I worked on over 100 assets and coached 3 actors on how to draw live over the past several months, but the results are outstanding. Twin Cities patrons, check out Drawing Lessons this October and November if you have the chance.

Second, my 2024 ShortBox Comics Fair entry, BLEED ANY%, is available now! Here’s the synopsis:

Speedrunner Samson859 specializes in the niche augmented reality game The Final Nocturne, which immerses the player in its world using nothing but sound and touch.

Samson’s choice of location for the latest run is a crowded subterranean mall with no shortage of physical obstacles.  But she is also there, when Samson least expects it, ready to strike…

And finally, I had an interview with Write On! Radio here in Minneapolis about my work on both projects as well as O Human Star. Give it a listen, and check out my other projects for the fall!
